With the dawning of a ‘new age’, I am there for you to prepare the perfect wedding for you and your partner.  During the time when Love Commitment Ceremonies were the only possibility in Australia for a same-sex couple, I offered a guarantee that I would re-perform the ceremony free of charge once the laws granting total gender equality were introduced.  The time is here to genuinely consider planning for a legal marriage between a woman and a woman or a man and a man and I am a celebrant who is here to help you in every way I can to make this a reality

I conduct marriages and love commitment ceremonies throughout South Australia, but my home turf is the Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley.  I am a preferred celebrant at the following GLBTI friendly venues:  Chateau Tanunda, Seppeltsfield, Novotel Barossa Valley, Lyndoch Hill & Barossa Chateau and Glen Ewin Estate.

When I support you in preparing for your perfect wedding ceremony, I do so with genuine caring and warmth. I recognise that the loving bond the two of you share is unique and how it is expressed on your very special day needs to perfectly reflect your deep feelings for one another.   A lifetime’s experience of developing strong relationships with people of all ages and of presenting publicly in a broad range of settings and situations, ensures that I can be trusted as a highly experienced, reliable and sincere professional. Now, here is my recipe for a positively memorable wedding celebration.  Create a calm, well-supported base layer. Add lashings of joy.  Sweeten with romance, to taste.  Sprinkle liberally with humour. Top off with a radiantly happy bridal couple.

If you want someone who is very strait-laced and always serious, then I’m probably not the celebrant for you.  I like to believe that I have a wholesome sense of humour, which is so important when it comes to creating a truly happy and relaxed atmosphere for your very special occasion.  It is my aim to support you in every way he can, and that includes helping to keep the jitters at bay.

 Professional

I know how to cross the t’s and dot the i’s.  Many years of being a school principal, senior teacher and chairperson or president on many organisations (currently Chairman, Barossa Radio Board) guarantee that I am organised and will take good care of all your preparations.

 Caring

I care about my clients; ensuring that their wedding day is always my number one priority.  I have to say that I am only truly happy if the celebration meets (or, better than that, exceeds) the couple’s every expectation.  I will reassure and build confidence – this will be the best day of your life!  It is my practice to listen carefully to what you have to say and then apply what I have heard when crafting your marriage ceremony.

 Confident

You need to believe in and trust your celebrant from the get-go.  I have spent forty years communicating with the public, as a celebrant, MC, guest speaker, actor, radio talk show host.  When I was a high school drama teacher, I taught students how to build self-confidence.  This I also did for adults at SA’s largest casting agency, Actors Ink, where I tutored Drama classes for fifteen years.

Literate

I was a senior school English teacher and a marker of Year 12 English examination papers.  This suggests that I have a fine grasp of written language and guarantees his ability to write a beautiful and personal ceremony just for you.  I encourage my clients to edit as much as they like – you just can’t offend me!  No generic wedding ceremonies from me!
