Wignells was started by Kev Wignell, a marine engineer, then an engineer at MacRobertson’s before setting up his own business with his brother in 1949. Kev Wignell Trading quickly became a Smith Street institution, full of wood stoves and combustion heaters, pot belly stoves, some dating back to an era even older than the business itself.
